Looking at this guy sorta hurts my brain… all the reasons why he has a horn and a beak on his head seem endless… I bet he kills with the horn then eats with the mouth in the middle and vomits with the beak.. or the other way around…

This is a concept piece for and idea I’m throwing around in my head. We’ll see if it goes anywhere.

I said that I would start making Unconscious Ink have previews and/or insights into the story of Anhedonia Blue… So here we go. The past two posts I’ve been trying to hard core experiment with new techniques to create a stronger visual imagery. So far I’m happy with the results.. and plan to try to incorporate more of this style into the comic as time goes on, but we’ll see. Also, this unlikely duo is also a character concept for ABlue, that may or may not show up as the finalized version. I’ve written in the later chapters about a girl traveling with a beastly protector.. I just felt like experimenting early on, and decided to post some more concepts here just to get feed back from you guys. Let me know what you think of the concept and the visual style! :]

Sorry for the lateness of this post. The power when out at my house while I was working on this last night and then i was really busy all morning. SO It took me till mid afternoon to get this one up. Anyway, this crazy ass pick was a failed experiment from Asia who decided to take over the world… but then just got hungry and ate it instead.

As I said before I would start posting some little goodies from my comic Anhedonia Blue here from time to time as the story evolves. So here’s a more fully elaborated version of the mysterious creature you’ve been seeing recently.

NEWS: I’ve been trying to figure out recently how to consolidate all the projects that I’m working on… or at least the few outlier projects, such as my Art Portfolio and This site. I decided to combine them… which has turned out to be a pain, but I’m already pretty excited about it and the way the merger is looking. If you click the portfolio button up top or the store button you will notice that you are now at “Artistic Doom,” never fear.. you are still here at this site, your just on the portfolio sections of it. :] I’ll be working on this for the next few days so please excuse the mess.

I’m definitely a beard person, I’ve been trying to grow one myself for a while and it’s just not quite the type of beard I’d like yet. I must admit though, it’s rather hard to grow a mutant beard…

This is the FIRST [ui] since way back in the day when i started (and each post took me hours at a time to draw) that I’ve done 100% with a tablet! I’m pretty happy about this one. :] Anyway….Beardfluff, by Rembrand Le Compte is a fellow TNP Presser and good friend of mine. His comic originally was called “My Chronic Insomnia,” a title I knew all too well. It is now know as by Beardfluff… presumably because he grew an awesome beard worthy of making a comic about. Either way when he launched the comic under the new name it always gave me strange imagery: beards so fluffy you can’t see the persons face, Santa’s who’s beards are eating children, beards eating their owners faces… I don’t know why, but the idea of “Beardfluff” has always been a funny thought in my mind. Anyway, Rembrand is a good chap who writes some good ol’ fashion comics about beards, so check ‘em out @ Beardfluff.com

I completely adore my friend Philippa Rice’s comic My Cardboard Life, but from the day I heard the name of her comic I’ve always thought about what a REAL cardboard life style would be! Basically broken spirited bum who sleeps in a cruddy box in a dark, dank alley way. So that’s why for this particular inkling I went with the more morbid side of things even though Philippa’s comic is far from dark, it’s rather cheery and happy. If you have yet to read her comic, please head over to her to her site and check out the unique things she’s doing with her cardboard life style! :]

News: There’s a new post over at Anhedonia Blue, and this week I tried a new little trick, slightly animating Panel 6. So check it out if you get a chance, and comment there to let me know what you think of it; I haven’t quite decided if I’ll be doing more posts like that, I want peoples opinions. ALSO, As of next week Unconscious Ink will now be posted on Wednesday & Friday! So remember to come by on those days instead of Tuesday/Thursday … well, you can come, but you may be disappointed to see theirs no update!

One of the first web-comic friends I ever made were Alex and Ray of Buttersafe. I honestly can’t remember where i found their site, it’s been so long now, but since then I’ve followed their work diligently. In my opinion these guys sense of humor is right inline with White Ninja, which is saying A LOT about them. Here, let me show you the classics: Showertime Funnies, Mr. Triangle, Surprise, and of course my ALL TIME FAVORITE: Romance on the Floating Island <-- serious MUST read. :] Ok, enough linking you to my favorites... it's time for you to head on over to their site and find your own!
