As I embark into Anhedonia Blue as a full time project I will be having more and more creature designs I’m either going to keep or toss. As a free draw experiment of a water spirit, this is what I came up with. I like him ok but I’ll just say it now.. he most likely wont show up in ABlue… Either way, from time to time I’m gonna be putting up some of these “failed” creatures here cos even if they aren’t gonna make it into Anhedonia Blue they are still my little creations and friends of Unconscious Ink! :]
i like him. kind of reminds me of a mosquito though. not sure why. very cool.
Mosquito, really? That’s odd.. I guess i can see it in his face.. plus he’s a water spirit and mosquitoes like water… So yeah, ok I can buy that. :]
Even before reading your blog about this guy, the picture had a water spirit type feel to it. Even if he doesn’t make it into ABlue, he’s still all kinds of awesome in my book. Just think of him almost like one of the Misfit toys in Rudolph.
I think a lot of my ideas are like misfit toys.. they are like the rejects that normal society wouldn’t really want toys of… trust me, i know. I bring my stuff to conventions and people look at it weird and say, “well that’s interesting” then walk away. lol Seems only a handful of people get it.
Creature design is hard.. and since ABlue is my baby it’s gonna take a lot of “rejects” to get the best. So at least that means it will make for a lot of GOOD [ui]‘s yeah? lol glad you liked this one.

Well I hafta admit seeing this in the feeds I got my hopes up thinking it’d be some pirates of the dark water themed monstruosity.

kool duder! it reminds me of your old work. and im pretty sure ive pooped one of these as well… sometimes taco bell makes my stomach angry! and the toilet is what gets hurt in the end! LOL
