Confused? Don’t be… I had to take a break from regular post tonight because of the fact that this week is going to be one hell of a week. As some of you know I just started at the Academy of Art which means I now have homework again.. that itself isn’t the problem though.. The real issue is that I have to figure out a way to get the next 5 pages or so of Anhedonia done in about a week or so to get the proofs done for the first book so that I can have copies ready in time for Emerald City Comicon! For those of you who are reading Anehdonia Blue, I’ll let you in on a little secret; chapter one is almost done, and because of that the first hard copy release of it will be available shortly after. I’m going to be announcing a pre-order this coming Monday when i post the next page. I’ll have more details then, but there will be some free stuff involved in pre-ordering the book! I need help fronting the money for the production of them so and pre-orders will help me out tremendously! Also, in the next few weeks I’ll be announcing a new project I’m working on! ^_~ Anyway.. i need to get back to work on the next page. See you Thursday with a “normal” Unconscious Ink! ;]

What the hell do you suppose this guy to be? He sorta reminds me of a shark.. but idk what else. He’s a really odd.. but fun character. :]

In other news, tomorrow I’m going to be attempting to make my first Unconscious Ink Plush Creature! If the endeavor is a success, a future post of whatever I make will be up and for sale as well. :] Also, this weekend I’m going to be buying little 6×6 canvases to paint creatures on. More than likely those will also end up being posted here for your typical Wednesday/Friday viewing pleasure and will also go on sale that night. Since all of these up coming items are a one of a kind sort of thing they will all be first come first serve, luckily you weblings get first pickin’s before i take them to conventions. :] And don’t worry.. I don’t plan to charge too much since they are all relatively small in size they will be a decent price for you guys. :]

This is another conceptual creature I’ve been toying with. I really like him so far, seems like a friendly dude.

PS. I got into the Academy of Art University in San Fransisco to get my MFA in Illustration! WOOT!

Looking at this guy sorta hurts my brain… all the reasons why he has a horn and a beak on his head seem endless… I bet he kills with the horn then eats with the mouth in the middle and vomits with the beak.. or the other way around…

This is a concept piece for and idea I’m throwing around in my head. We’ll see if it goes anywhere.

This drawing came from the fact that I hadn’t talked with my good friend Patrick in quite some time. And he says to me as the conversation is coming to a close: “i was just thinking today i miss your weirdness, it keeps life spicy.” To which I replied: “That’s what [ui] is for, to remember that im spicy.” Thus this post was born. :] To remind you guys THAT I’M MOTHER FUCKING SPICY!

This is what my brain feels like lately.

Recently via my friends at Pictures of Crying Children I learned of a great artist and really funny dude by the name of Joe Hunter! He does his own Journal Comix which are great! I felt like he needed a shout out because he’s definitely worth reading.

The reason I had to opt towards a guest strip is the fact that today I’ve been really busy putting together my portfolio and writing my letter of intent to get accepted to for an illustration program at the Academy of Art in San Fransisco! So far the hardest part has been the damn letter, but wish me luck either way? Ohhh noooeesss schools? lol Anyway, thank Joe dearly for the help in my time of need!

Wow, it’s so weird that this year both of my posts fell on the holiday’s; That’s a first. I totally didn’t realize tonight was the night i had to post so while sitting with my friends, drinking, enjoying the company and the last moments of 2010 I had to stop everything and draw with them here. It was an interesting experience. I’ve never had to draw a post with people literally standing over my shoulder watching and throwing out ideas as I went. This was a great way yet odd way to close the year!

Time for me to get back to the drinking and the games. I hope you all have a great new year & tell me your new years stories! I hope they are horribly embarrassing drunken ones! :]
