Is it just me, or were the female Jedi grossly under represented in the Star Wars series? I grew up OBSESSIVELY watching the original three films, to an extent that I think I watched them every weekend, particularly Empire Strikes Back.. for some reason. I loved these movies to death, and thought that I would forever be a fan… until George Lucas released those other three films. For whatever reason those movies completely destroyed the franchise for me, and I haven’t re-watched any of the six since I watched the prequels. For me, I found there were far too many series discontinuities between the fact that the first three were filmed in the 1970-80s and the newer ones in the 90s. I know, I watched the documentaries about the films and heard Georges arguments for the changes.. but the fact that ships were 10x+ nicer looking, that technology pre-war was 10x+ more sophisticated, and that Jar Jar Binks existed was just for whatever reason unforgivable to me. Anyway, while writing this joke it dawned on me that the Jedi were almost exclusively men in the prequels and if they WERE women, they were only alien women. Why is that? Why were human females not “adequate” enough to be trained as Jedi (in the Star Wars universe)? It’s a same that there were no powerful female roles in the Star Wars series… what are nerdy Star Wars geeks supposed to spend their private viewings fantasizing about? Sorry Kerry Fisher… Sadly, you’re just too old for us now.
NEWS: GOOD NEWS GUYS! Today LAWLS breached the $6000 goal to getting Vol 1. Printed! THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! There are only 45 hours remaining, so if you wanted to claim one of the Kickstarter exclusive rewards or just get your name in the back of the book, you don’t have too much time left. Once time runs out, the book wont be available again for sale until it’s actually printed. Again thank you all for the support, I am truly lucky to have readers as awesome as you!
ALT JOKE [ I found this one funny… but worried it was too sexist. ]
